Non-deliverable

The project was born at the beginning of winter. It was sad and painful and cold, but winter was beginning all around, and it became quiet and clean. The trees, the river, everything went to sleep. Reset to zero… I wanted to reset, too. I wanted to feel what it was like to freeze and stop for a while, then wake up again. I started with my self-portraits, exactly in the mood and the state I was in. I shot in a studio with harsh light, I wanted to achieve a strong contrast and white "embossed" skin. The portraits printed on transparent film were already shot on the city pond. I saw myself lying under the snow, under the ice fragments, with white porcelain skin, cold and so calm, peaceful. It's a strange state - I'm there and I'm here.
